WOYWW 292# What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Back again for another Wednesday.

Angela here to show you:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the
Stamping Ground and our dear host Julia will explain and all will be revealed.

So here is my desk this week.
Only first!!!!

Couldn't resist this, just for Julia, hope she likes it.
Those of you who know Julia's blog will understand the significance of this photo.
The shadows are myself and 'Him Indoors'.
The two shadows at the bottom are Maisie and Stanley.

It occurred to me what fun it would be if some of you joined in and posted some similar photos.

And now for my desk.

Anyone who has been round recently will know that I have been playing and the piece of fabric on the right is one of the results. The larger piece on the left is the start of my next playtime and is a layer of various synthetic fabrics with a cotton base, ready to be heated up.

This is a close-up of what you can expect to happen after the heating.

I will be back soon to post you the results.

Right! now hope you will go and see what everyone else has been up to, I certainly intend to.
Thanks for popping round and have a great week.
Angela x

That looks VERY exciting, Angela! Look forward to seeing more of this! I am getting more into textiles this year and am looking forward to doing some more meltings lol!

Thanks for your visit and your lovely comment. So glad you like my latest (revived ancient) project. Seeing your post reminds me it's Wednesday... goodness a whole week has gone by somehow. I haven't thought about WOYWW... Maybe I'll have time to rustle up something in the morning - it's now 2.15 a.m. and time for bed!

Interesting experiments with the fabric! A world of possibilities! Great idea sharing Julia's trademark shadow photos - I think I have one we took years ago. With the way things are going I might have to wait for a sunny day until spring to take a more recent one! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #27

The photo is brilliant, I am sure Julia will love that one! If only we had some sunshine here..... sigh. Is that fabric the Tyvek stuff you mentioned previously? I really like the outcome on the purple piece. Hugs, Anne xx

Ah Angela, I have performed this technique before, and it never ceases to amaze me how wonderful it turns out.

I wish I had a "bud" to take a similar "selfie" with, but it's far too cold and snowy with bitter winds, to ask anyone to join me for the Julia inspired photo. Maybe in the spring (grin).

Happy belated New Year and happy WOYWW from # 2.

Hi Angela, Happy WOYWW. Good shadow shot! The fabric looks fascinating, I wonder what you will do with it - maybe I will explore and find out.
Lovin' the blue and green drawers too.

Great shadow shot! Makes me think of a story we read in English class: Daddy Longlegs.
That burned fabric looks so cool! Did you intend that?
Cheers

Ah, I've seen Julia's photo's. If my dearly beloved is up for it we'll try a similar photo.
Your burnt fabric is coming on nicely. Do you know what you are going to do with it yet. Looking forward to seeing what happens next....
Have a great week,

Love your photo! Do the pics mean that the fabrics both shrink and burn? Is an ordinary heattool enough for the effect? Looks really interesting, can't wait to see what it becomes :)

Well this all looks rather interesting, sewing not really my forte that's for sure but I do like what you have created so far, thanks for sharing.
