Masterboard Monday: Crafty Cardmakers Challenge # 165: Monochrome.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

Kim is hosting our challenge today and the theme is Monochrome.
We would like to see your creations using MOSTLY one colour (hair and skin tones are allowed). Please make sure though that there is only one other main colour.
You can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to just be cards, as long as it meets the challenge, and doesn't exceed the 15 total challenges entered rule!

My project for this Challenge:

The stages for making the masterboard:

It's very difficult to see the first stage but this is where I started by adding sections of 3D paste around the card using the stencils below.

At this stage I added colour using a blending tool and several colours of blue distress ink, then rub over the embossing gently and the detail comes to life.

The next job is to cut up the Masterboard ready to make the cards.

For this project I cut several squares measuring 2"x 2" and layered them with silver mirri card and then onto black.

The card now needed a sentiment and an embellishment to complete the card and here is how I finished this card.

Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of vellum, heat emboss and cut to the shape required.

Die cut the embellishments and then place them in a pleasing arrangement.

I had a bird and a square left over and it seemed a shame to waste them.

And there you have it.
Hope you enjoyed watching me make this and will pop over to see what my team mates have made and join in with the challenge at Crafty Cardmakers.

Have a great week and happy crafting,

Angela xXx

That Craft Place Shrine Project.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Back today to show you how I've been using those gorgeous shrines I showed you last week. If you missed them you can see them here.

So which one to work on first ???
Well this is what I made.

I kept looking at this one and the  top kind of reminded me of waves!

So that's were I started.
The shrines arrive like this: flat.

You could put them together before starting but I chose to paint them with Gesso first as the edges where going to be painted.
You need to try and avoid too much paint round the tabs or it can be difficult to push them in.

Next stage to paint the edges. I used a mixture of these two paints as I wanted the colour to match the papers I had planned to use.

Graphic 45 Beneath the Sea collection!

I used the smaller size which fitted better with this shrine.

Once the paint was dry, I attached the background papers and started to put the shrine together.

If you want a nice neat edge just sand gently which will remove any excess paper.

Glazing and dewdrops gave the watery effect.

I used some Sizzix dies to create the seaweed.

I also found some little plastic shells threaded together with cord and painted those with alcohol ink.
You can see them just at the bottom left.

Edges next.
These papers are perfect for this.

And the finished Shrine.
They are a bit like a small shadow box.

The Front.

And the Back.

I used one of the pockets and tags for the back and more Dew Drops, then finished the whole thing off by splattering on White pebeo Artist Marker. They are so juicy that you can tap them on your hand and the colour just splatters onto your work. They come in different sizes too and other colours.

If you like the Shrines, they are available here at That Craft Place.

Hope you enjoyed the visit.

Happy crafting,
Angela xXx

Friday Fun Day with Smiles # 171

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Lots happening in the park this week but I apologise that some of the photographs are not as good as usual, the swans are very secretive at this time of the year.

There was movement in the bushes.
If you look carefully on the right just off centre towards the bottom of the photograph you will see a signet.

Mum wasn't long getting them comfy again.

But you can just see one of the babies here.
Don't think it will be long before we see them on the lake.

Lots more babies here too.

And here!

And here!
They look like little ants.

These little ones were moving so fast that both the mother and the camera had a job keeping up with them.

These two had climbed up the ledge and thought the babies would follow!

The babies had other ideas.

Hope you have a great Friday and thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too if you like.

Thanks for stopping by,

WOYWW 364 # Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

However the link-up has moved for a short time as Julia is otherwise occupied and you will find it here at Lunch Lady Jan's

So here is my desk for today!

The box on the left has loads of bits and pieces I've been working on.

The main difference this week is the card I've just finished.
I was trying to work on some CAS cards but think I got a bit carried away with the balloons.
Still it was fun colouring them in! The strings were just drawn free hand and the balloons are a Tim Holtz stamp.
I coloured them with Copic Ciao markers.

My main project this week was another shrine but it's all been cleared away, not quite finished the tutorial so will post that later in the week if you are interested.

So that's it for today, nice and quick just how the boss likes it.
Any questions, just ask.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww

and

happy crafting,

Angela x

That Craft Place Shrine Project.

Back soon to show you what I've done with them but which to start with??????

Big hugs,

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Here is the card I've made using one of my Masterboards.

There have been lots of projects around using this technique where you use a die to cut into the top card revealing the one below. Don't know if it's been done before with black card and I thought it would work quite well over this Masterboard so had to give it a go.

I used Tim Holtz  Mixed Media 2 Thinlits die to cut the black card and then embossed the card with a Embossalicious die and rubbed over it with gilding wax.
I also cut out the flowers using the Thinlits Wildflowers die and the sentiment from Celebration Words.
I completed the card with gold brads and other elements from my stash and mounted the whole thing onto a black card blank.

Hope you like it and happy crafting,

 Angela x

I would like to enter this project in the following challenges:

Friday Fun Day with Smiles # 170

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

More photos in the garden this week. Been having a problem with two ducks which just would not leave and had taken a fancy to my fish pond.
Now I like ducks but wish they would stay in the park as they have been using the pond net as a trampoline.

I feel a bit sad that we have had to scare them off but I have the Koi to consider.
So here are a few photos of the fun they had while they were here, round about three days in all, after which time they had to go though it took a lot to persuade them. Even beating a stick on the ground and shouting Shooo Shooo did not seem to bother them they just woddled to the bottom of the garden.

So here they are on the day they arrived.

A little bit of garden inspection first!

Then it was time for a nap.

Back to checking out the pond.

And a bit of  a clean up.

And then we can test out the new place.

They seemed a bit unsure about the net but it didn't put them off one bit.

And if we push it down enough we can have a proper good paddle!

Mmmmm nice, time for a bit of preening.

This went on for three days but I think they decided they didn't like Maisie and Stan very much but they did make us smile while they were here.

Hope you have a great Friday and thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
